Since 1981, Kappa Delta has been a proud supporter of Prevent Child Abuse America, an organization founded by the late Donna Stone, one of our own Kappa Delta sisters. To date, Kappa Delta has donated over $8 million to help prevent child abuse in our country.

Thousands of KDs in hundreds of communities nationwide host "Shamrock Events" every year to raise money for national and local child abuse prevention efforts. Events are as varied and creative as the groups that sponsor them. We encourage you to participate in local Shamrock Events to join Kappa Delta in making great things happen in the lives of children.

Every year, Alpha Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority hosts our annual Shamrock 5K run, which benefits Prevent Child Abuse America and our local chapter of Child Abuse Prevention Services, right here in Lansing. These awesome organizations work to prevent child abuse from occuring through many family services, including counseling, support groups, and childcare assistance.  Every child deserves the chance to grow up happy, healthy, and safe!

This year, the event will take place at Granger Meadows Park (at the intersection of Wood and State Road), with the race starting and ending at the pavilion. The course will wind through the gorgeous park trails! Refreshments, music, and prizes will be included as well!

We are excited to have you join us to support the prevention of child abuse, both nationally and locally!

The Basics:

Registration opens at 10:45 AM and ends at 11:45 AM; race begins promptly at 12:00 PM.

Runners, as well as walkers, are welcome, as are pets and strollers!
